You are probably getting tired of these posts and I totally understand you. I am getting tired of writing them as well, but it is all my fault for not scheduling them more in advance. I have a good excuse though, I had recently started my postgraduate degree when I started getting these calendars in the mail.
Starting now, we are approaching more luxurious territory. Yes I have already reviewed the Selfridges X L’Oreal Paris beauty advent calendar and that can be considered luxurious as well, the quality definitely is, however we are entering a whole new territory. Liberty, just like the department store itself, screams luxury and finesse. Unlike other shops of its kind, Liberty has a unique personality if you will, which stems from its incredible history and unique approach to retail and that “je ne sais quoi” is clearly reflected in the calendar itself as well as the products included in the 25 little drawers.
The Liberty calendar is also quite big, but not in an obnoxious way unlike others that I have recently reviewed, but will not name here. It has the image of the store printed on the front and back, just in case anyone had any doubt where it came from. Sorry, I am being mean now. It is actually quite cute to be honest and the inside contains 25 little drawers and they are all painted in a Liberty specific design. I am quite sad that the back of the drawers do not have the same print as it would have been lovely to keep it on display somehow, but without the numbers, however it is not that big of a deal especially since the card is not as hard as you would expect so it does not really make for a great storage system. As you probably realised by now, I do love it when the calendar has a second functionality. All in all, the calendar is definitely beautiful so I can understand why people waited in a line that was as long as a couple of blocks. I was sneaky and got mine online a few minutes after it went live. What I forgot to mention is that every drawer has a little note with information about the product which I think is amazing as with the others I had to keep track of them and remember what day they were supposed to fall under. I only care as I plan to review the products, duh!
Enough about the design. The content is also pretty amazing and it if full of brands that Liberty sells within their store. It might not mean much to some of you, but Liberty has some pretty unique brands that you do not hear about every single day. It finally gave me the chance to try out two products from some cult brands that I have been meaning to try for a while, but never managed to find them anywhere and now I became addicted to their products. That is another story though. While most of the products were unfamiliar, I did get some duplicates, but it is absolutely fine. Overall, there is a such a variety of products that you would not believe it. There was definitely a lot of thought put behind the choice of products and that shows just how much Liberty cares.
Overall, this beauty advent calendar from Liberty gets my seal of approval. It is a yes, yes, yes for me! If I am in the UK when it comes out next time, this is the one calendar I have no doubt that I am going to get again, even if it means I need to eat noodles for a month! (That would not be so bad as far as I am concerned, I love noodles) However, I do hope that you managed to get just how much I want another one.
