I wear eyeliner on the lower lash line or waterline almost every single day so as you can imagine I am quite particular about the liners I choose to wear. They must not smudge and that is the first and most important requirement, I honestly do not wish to end up looking like a Panda as I am sure that I would not be as cute. I have been there before and I am trying to avoid going there ever again. Other qualities a liner must have is the fact that they need to be soft. The eyeliner needs to be soft enough so that you can apply it without feeling like you are scratching the incredibly sensitive skin around your eyes. Trust me, it happens so often that a liner is so hard that you need to apply a little bit of pressure and is also rough on the skin. However, it does tend to happen mostly when waterproof eyeliners are concerned and by logical deduction you reached the conclusion that waterproof eyeliner are the ones that also do not smudge usually which put people such as myself in a bad situation thus making it incredibly difficult to find a good liner.
Day 3 of the Selfridges x L’Oreal calendar is actually the Lancome Le Crayon Khol pencil and I was incredibly happy when I discovered it, but I also tried to not get my hopes up. I have been disappointed more times than I can count by even better brands. To my complete surprise, the Lancome liner is actually amazing. It is a pencil type and not crayon type, but it is soft enough to apply with ease and in addition, it stays put for quite long periods of time. You might need to retouch throughout the day, but that is absolutely fine. The liner itself does not make it top number one on my list of preferences, but it is up there without a doubt. The one drawback is the price tag. The price is in the normal range for a high quality liner and you should definitely go for something high quality considering just where you are applying it, but I did try good ones that were half the price. On the other hand, you do not need to buy one every single day so the splurge might be worth it in the grand scheme of things. Dramatic much?
