Updated post: This is just one of the many posts that got lost in my transition from one hosting service to another. However, I thought it deserved to be re-uploaded as recently I rediscovered why I fell in love with this brand in the first place. Plus, it has been exactly one year since I first saw a photograph of one of their products which is how I ended up looking for the shop in the first place.
It was April and for the first time in what seemed like forever I had nothing better to do during spring break, other than to browse through the infinite digital world that is the Internet. I do not recall how it happened, but it did, I stumbled upon a Swedish luxury stationery brand called kikki.K. The second I laid eyes on their website I was hooked. Of course I was, you all know just how much I love stationary.
I quickly looked up any stores in London and as soon as I got back from my break I went to see them in person. It couldn’t have come at a better time. You see, at the time they had two stores in Covent Garden and I had already made plans to visit the place as soon as I got back as I wanted to write about the experience and shoot some photos. Now one of their stores, the pop up one, closed, but on the bright side they now have a stand in Selfridges and they started trading on Regent Street as well.
Taking the time to visit kikki.K was the best decision I made in recent months. The moment I stepped inside the store I fell in love with the brand even further. The design of the place, the items and the genuine smiles of their shop assistants are just a few of the things that made me go back. Ever since then, I visited their stores more times than I can count. Each time I was stressing about something I would take a break and head to their store and see if I could find something pretty to cheer me up and motivate me to continue writing my assignments.
In kikki.K, it was also the first time I actually felt like talking to a shop assistant. You all know just how much I hate that, how embarrassed I feel, as well as judged. That was not the case in the kikki.K store. Yulia, the shop assistant that helped me out was incredibly nice and welcoming and she shared my love for stationary. I never felt, not even for one second, pushed to make a purchase, despite the fact that I had been wandering around the store, studying every single item and not being able to decide what to buy.
During my first visit I ended up leaving with just a small notepad. They have so many items to choose from, but you know what happens when you have too many choices… To be honest, that was only part of the reason, the other part was the fact that their colour theme at the time really did not match my home decor. However, ever since then they came out with so many new collections! They are simply to die for.
Another thing that I love about kikki.K is their ability to motivate people through their stylishly delivered messages. Their collections are usually themed and almost all their products carry motivational messages on them. They also have a series of highly popular journals that are meant to help you achieve different life goals.
You want to know something else? They provide beautifully designed bags with every purchase! I love it when I get beautiful paper bags. It might sound silly, but it is true.
Furthermore, they have small sales throughout the year and huge ones biannually. I managed to catch the summer and winter sales! At the sale I found items that I had not seen before, items from previous collections. I definitely recommend shopping the sale, especially if like me, you do not have an unlimited budget. In general the prices are a bit high, but totally worth in report to the quality of the product, but during the sale period they are more affordable. For that reason, I suggest to get most of your things during the sale period, unless there is one item you cannot live without and don’t want to risk it.
Another useful tip is to sign up and become a member. When you first sign up, you get a voucher.
The one thing I dislike are the home delivery fees, They honestly have some of the biggest delivery fees I have ever seen and the amount required to spend for free delivery is a bit high. While it is incredibly easy to reach 90£ (the amount required for free delivery last time I checked) on one order, there are times when I only want a couple of things that are not available in store, but that are not particularly pricey. When that happens, personally I do not feel like spending 6£ on transport, especially when I could get something nice for that money. Also, last time I checked, back at the beginning of last summer, they did not offer in store order pick up so that you could avoid paying shipping fees. That is the only thing that bothers me, without this small inconvenience I would call this the almost perfect place to shop.
Overall, I suggest you give kikki.K a look and follow them on Instagram. They post the most amazing flatlays! I cannot tell you just how many times I heard, while I was in store, people talking about their Instagram. It is swoon worthy. Don’t believe me? Have a look below.
Hope you enjoyed this kinda lengthy post. I know it is not my usual, but I wanted to introduce you in the universe of this amazing brand before I start talking about the small collection of items I will be reviewing next and how I put to use some of them. Hope you enjoyed it and don’t forget to visit kikki.K website.
It is not just a brand, it is a lifestyle.
Have you ever shopped at kikki.K? What do you think of the brand?
