I had no choice! Talking about Christmas before Thanksgiving is not something I usually do, but I had to tell you all about my first ever Blogosphere Magazine event.
Why is it so important for me to talk about it, you might wonder. Well, I am going to tell you why in just a second, but before that, I want to make sure you’ve all heard about BlogosphereM. So what is BlogosphereM? For those of you who have not come across it before or those of you outside the UK, Blogosphere Magazine is magazine written by bloggers for bloggers and it is pretty awesome. I have been meaning to post a review of the all the issues I’ve read, but yeah…maybe one day.
The reason why it was so important for me to attend is because I really wanted to meet the team of people with whom I talked to during their weekly Twitter Chats as well as the people who have been retweeting my tweets or regramming my Instagram photos. You won’t believe just how much that means to me, especially considering that they get to work with world famous bloggers. Furthermore, this is something you might have seen before, or maybe this is the first time you hear about it, but they actually published one of my Instagram photos in their ninth issue 🙂 That is definitely the highlight of my year and of my blogging career.
Anyway, enough about me. Let me tell you about the event now. In short, it was pretty great. As you probably know, this was my second blogger’s event ever – the first being the one organised by The Bloggers Hub in collaboration with Bloggers who Brunch (read my thoughts here). I don’t really have much to compare this event to, but I had a really good time.
The #BlogosphereChristmas market was definitely different from my previous meetup. This time, I did not get to interact with bloggers as much as I did at the other one, but I did got to know a few new people with whom I am sure I will keep in touch over social media. However, this time there were also brands involved. You all know just how important is for bloggers to get to interact with brand representatives and get to learn more about their products. This was definitely a first for me and one of the things that made attending the event even more worth it.
The location was not as chic, but the atmosphere more than made up for it. Plus, I loved the fact that it was easily accessible and in central London.
The tickets were super affordable and they came with a goodie bag and the latest issue of the magazine. You won’t believe how hard it was for me not to buy it when I first saw it back in September! I knew there was a copy included in the ticket price so I decided to wait, but I was so curious about the content everyone kept talking about. The magazine is always full of useful advice that helps me improve my blogging.
However, the most surprising thing was the fact that I left the event with several bags of goodies. Honestly, for such a small ticket fee I was not expecting more than I originally thought I would get. Not complaining, of course! Now, I have more material for the blog and also the opportunity to try new things, but wow.
Here you can see some of the goodies that I received:
Really grateful for all of these. Thanks Janina, Latest in beauty, So..Fragrances, The London Tea Company and 7th heaven.
Stay tuned. Reviews will follow soon. I haven’t really tried any of these products before, so I am really curious to see what they are like.
Overall, the event was amazing and definitely makes me want to attend more in the future. However, I need to keep my eyes open and be alert as tickets to events sell out fast. We are a really keen bunch.
What dod you guys think? Worth leaving the warmth of your home for this?
