There’s no doubt that office romances make for some of the most captivating k-dramas around. Whether it’s the will-they-won’t-they tension of coworkers slowly falling for each other or the drama and excitement of secret affairs, these shows never fail to keep us entertained.

There are so many great k-dramas with office romances that it was hard to choose just 7. But after careful consideration, here are my picks for the best 7 k-dramas involving office romances:

#1 What is wrong with secretary Kim?

what is wrong with secretayr kim k drama

Office romance is always a controversial topic. Some people believe that office romances can lead to improved morale and better office dynamics, while others believe that office romances can be disruptive and lead to office gossip. No matter what side of the debate you fall on, there’s no denying that office romances can be addicting. And that’s exactly what I found myself thinking after watching “What is wrong with secretary Kim?”.

This drama tells the story of a narcissistic vice president of a company, Lee Young Joon, and his unassuming secretary, Kim Mi So. After working together for years, Mi So is finally ready to move on and start following the dreams she left behind when she started spending all her time at the office trying to make ends meet and helping her family financially. Now that she is a position to support herself and do what she loves, she quits her job.

However, as she prepares to leave, her boss – Young Joon – realizes how much he has come to rely on her and how much she means to him. He then does everything in his power to try and get her to stay, including admitting to asking her to marry him out of the blue.

While this may seem like a desperate move, it actually makes for a very cute and addicting drama. If you’re looking for a complex and yet endearing drama, then this is one you should definitely watch. Plus, seeing Park Seo Joon adoring himself in the mirror is something everyone needs in their life.

Oh, I nearly forgot to mention that this is one of the spiciest K-dramas you can probably find in this genre as PSJ sure loves to show his, I have to admit, great body.

#2 Romance is a Bonus Book

romance is a bonus book k drama

If you’re looking for a heartwarming office romance, Romance is a Bonus Book is the perfect K-drama for you. The show follows the story of Cha Eun-ho, a talented editor at a publishing house, and Kang Dan-i, a former copywriter who has returned to the workforce after being unemployed for several years. However, things are not as clear-cut as they may seem to their colleagues since the two have actually known each other since they were children, and Eun-ho has been in love with Dan-i for just a long.

Throughout the course of the drama, the two, or rather Dan-i begins to realize the depth of Eun-ho’s feeling and allows herself to fall for him as well as think of herself as a woman rather than just a mother. The drama is light-hearted and fun at times, but it also deals with more serious topics such as unemployment and ageism in the workplace. Overall, it’s a great show that will definitely make you smile.

Although office romances can be tricky, the chemistry between Cha Eun-ho and Kang Dan-i is undeniable. The actors also have great on-screen chemistry, which makes their romance all the more believable as well as endearing. If you’re looking for a romantic K-drama that will make you laugh and cry as well as contemplate, Romance is a Bonus Book is definitely worth watching.

#3 Touch your heart

Touch Your Heart is one of the most popular office romance k-dramas out there. The story follows Oh Jin-shim, a top actress who takes on a role as a secretary in a law firm in order to gain credibility for an upcoming drama. However, she finds herself falling for her boss, Kwon Jung-rok Though office romance is often discouraged, the slow-burn romance between the two is sure to touch your heart.

Furthermore, this drama is exactly what we needed after seeing Lee Dong Wook and Yoo In-Ha in Goblin where the relationship between their respective characters was not explored enough to leave us satisfied.

#4 The Secret Life of My Secretary

The Secret Life of My Secretary is a 2019 office romantic comedy television series starring Kim Young-Kwang and Jin Ki Joo. It is about the love story that develops between Do Min Ik, a perfectionist boss who has prosopagnosia (face blindness), and his secretary, Gal Hee.

While working together, the two slowly begin to develop feelings for each other. However, things are complicated by the fact that Do Min Ik does not want anyone to know about his prosopagnosia, and Gal Hee is the only one who knows the truth and allowed herself to profit from Min-it’s misfortune for just one moment, after which things snowballed out of control.

This drama is funny and heartwarming and will definitely make you root for the two main characters to end up together. It is series such as this one that makes it hard not to like Kim Young-Kwang dispute any comments he might or might not have made around a decade ago.

#5 Her Private Life

Office romance is always a risky proposition, but sometimes the rewards can be worth the risks. Such is the case with Park Min-young and Kim Jae-Wook’s new K-drama, Her Private Life. The series follows the story of a talented but often frustrating art curator named Sung Deok Mi (Park Min-young), who falls in love with her new boss, Ryan Gold (Kim Jae-Wook). Of course, there are plenty of obstacles in their way, including the fact that Sung Deok Mi is secretly a huge fangirl of a Korean pop idol named Shi An.

Nevertheless, the two manage to find their way to each other, and the result is a touching and often hilarious romance. If you’re looking for a K-drama that will make you laugh, cry, and swoon, then Her Private Life is definitely one you should check out. Plus, this is one of the spiest office-romance k-dramas out there, together with What is Wrong with Secretary Kim, of course.

#6 Hyena

If you’re looking for an office romance-themed k-drama to watch, Hyena is a great option. The story follows two lawyers, Jung Geum Ja and Yoon Hee Jae, as they navigate their complicated relationship. While the two are constantly butting heads with each other, they can’t deny the attraction they feel.

Hyena is a great drama for those who are looking for a mix of romance, comedy, and suspense. Plus, we are really not talking about the same kind of romance as in the other dramas presented in this article. There is way more scheming involved and less melodrama.

#7 She Was Pretty

This drama tells the story of two childhood friends, Kim Hye Jin and Ji Sung Joon, who reconnect as adults. Hye Jin has always tried to hide her curly and unruly hair and skin redness, while Sung Joon has always felt like he was never good enough for her.

However, things change as the years go by, and when Sung Joon wants to meet up again, Hye Jin is the one who is not confident enough to face her childhood friend, thus sending her best friend in her stead to meet him.

This leads to some hilarious misunderstandings between the two. While this drama is classified as a romantic comedy, some touching moments will definitely tug at your heartstrings. Plus one scene I will never be able to get over *huffing in annoyance.

These are only some of the best office romance K-dramas you can watch. If you haven’t seen them yet, be sure to check them out and let us know what you think!

Forgot to mention that all these dramas are available on Netflix and/or via Viki.
